The Emergency Rental Assistance Program from the DC Department of Human Services (DHS) will open for new applications on Monday, April 1.
Known as ERAP, the program helps District residents who earn less than 40% of the Area Median Income and are facing housing emergencies by providing funding for overdue rent. The program also supports security deposits and the first month’s rent for residents moving into new apartments.
The application portal will open at 12 p.m. on Monday, April 1 and will close once 8,500 applications are received.
