Residents at DCHA’s Potomac Gardens Celebrate Community and Connection

Residents and neighbors enjoyed a community day hosted by the DC Housing Authority (DCHA) on October 10 as part of its Rebuilding Our Communities Block Party series.

DCHA residents spent the day with family, neighbors and friends. The event included food, live music, games, face painting, and more. As the fun continued throughout the day, community members mingled and built connections.

DCHA staff and volunteers distributed free groceries to residents before the block party started. Additional giveaways included [details of additional giveaways if any].

Service providers were also in attendance to provide information about various resources for the community. These providers connect individuals with support regarding education, workforce development, job opportunities, healthcare, and more. Local nonprofits, academic institutions, private employers, and DC government agencies committed to supporting residents engaged with individuals and families in attendance.

DCHA’s Rebuilding Our Communities initiative focuses on building connections between community members and providing access to helpful resources. The 2026 block party series will end with a Halloween Extravaganza on October 30 at [LOCATION]. All DCHA residents and communities are invited to attend the final celebration that will mark a day of spooky fun.

DCHA is grateful for the service providers who helped make this event possible:
