Scholarship Opportunities

The District of Columbia Housing Authority is proud to encourage and support residents of our public housing communities and members of a Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) households as they work to achieve their educational and professional goals.

There are several scholarship programs for postsecondary educations that DCHA residents and HCVP household members may want to pursue.

COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS

DCHA has a total of $40,000 in scholarships that it awards annually to students furthering their education in the fall.

The annual Commitment to Excellence Scholarship Program (CESP) accepts applications from students who live at DCHA properties or are HCVP recipients. There is no age requirement; however applicants must be attending an accredited college, university, or trade/technical school in the fall and must have a 2.0 GPA or a 225 GED score.

These scholarships, which are paid directly to your learning institution, can pay for books, tuition, equipment, or other items needed to assist our clients in their studies.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
