Capitol View Plaza is a high-rise apartment building designated for the elderly and disabled public housing residents. Capitol View Plaza is located in the Southeast quadrant of the District of Columbia, less than one-fourth of a mile from the Prince George’s County Maryland line. This twelve-story building accommodates its residents with two elevators, balconies, and laundry facilities. Residents of Capitol View Plaza enjoy the convenience of public transportation (both the metro transit subway and bus), churches, and retail; all within a 5-mile radius.

The Meals on Wheels program and daily sponsored recreational activities are just a few of the amenities that are offered to the residents. Capitol View Plaza is one of the recipients of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Hope VI grant and will be redeveloped starting in early 2003. The new Capitol View Plaza will be a mid-rise, senior only facility with an assisted living component.
