Moving to Work

Innovation Management and Performance All Coming Together

DCHA is one of 39 public housing authorities selected by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to participate in the “Moving to Work” (MTW) demonstration program. As an MTW agency, DCHA has greater funding and regulatory flexibility to meet local housing needs. With this flexibility, MTW agencies design and test innovative, locally designed strategies focused on achieving greater cost effectiveness, while helping customers become self-sufficient and increasing housing choices.

DCHA is dedicated to making a meaningful IMPACT, Innovation, Management and Performance All Coming Together, in the lives of low-income families. MTW is one of the tools that allows us to address some of the District of Columbia’s affordable housing needs.

Visit the HUD website to learn more about the MTW demonstration program, including past plans and reports from all 39 MTW housing authorities.
