The District of Columbia Housing Authority served more than 6,000 children this holiday season with its annual Gift of Love celebration.

Each year since 2003, DCHA has helped hundreds of children enjoy the holidays. The Gift of Love initiative offers DCHA employees the opportunity to provide clothes, toys, books, and other gifts to brighten the holiday season for children. This year DCHA has partnered with A Wider Circle, a local non-profit organization to serve more than 5,000 children.

Combined with the efforts from other federal and local organizations, such as the U.S. Coast Guard, Washington Nationals, D.C. Building Industry Association, and D.C. Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, DCHA was able to serve children throughout the community.

At the culminating event during the Season of Giving at Trinity Washington University there were feature characters, balloon making, music, as well as Santa and Mrs. Claus. Raffles were held every hour for bikes, scooters, a guitar, and more.
