The Potomac Gardens community enjoyed a Fish Fry Under the Stars recently.

More than 100 children, residents, and seniors came out for the family event, held on June 16, was sponsored by the Potomac Gardens Resident Council and Total Family Care. It is the first of several events from the teams at Potomac Gardens and Woodland Terrace.

The Brothers Huddle, a community partner at Woodland Terrrace, did all the cooking, including delicious fried fish, potato salad, chicken, salad, and more. They also brought along some gifts and books for the community's children.

Potomac Gardens Resident Council President Aquarius Vann-Ghasri and Gail Avent of Total Family Care led the effort. The District of Columbia Office of Public Safety and Office of Resident Services also had a hand in planning the event and was represented by Ron Friday, Samuel Washington-Bey, and Denise Govan.
