District of Columbia Housing Authority employees created a special goodbye video for the outgoing executive director.

DCHA employees created a video memorializing one of Executive Director Adrianne Todman’s quotes and wishing her a fond farewell.

Todman announced in April that she will leave DCHA on June 1, 2017 to become the first female CEO of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO). NAHRO is the leading housing and community development advocacy organization that promotes affordable housing policy for all Americans, particularly those with low- and moderate-incomes. The nearly 20,000-member organization is comprised of community development agencies, housing authorities, and individuals, among others. NAHRO’s members provide homes to nearly 8 million low-income households.

Paying tribute to Todman’s leadership, the employees recite this quote: “Every child is born into a world that fascinates them. Their fascination energizes their potential to learn, to grow, and to dream. Five-thousand young people live in D.C.’s public housing communities. There is no greater challenge or cause.”

The quote was taken from one of Todman’s speeches on her motivation for creating and preserving affordable housing.
