Nearly 100 people were sworn in as Resident Council officers at the District of Columbia Housing Authority headquarters on Wednesday, September 3. The officers, who lead resident associations at DCHA properties, were elected to three-year terms. “I feel the power in the room,” said DCHA Executive Director Adrianne Todman. “When I see you I feel our power because you all are a force to be reckoned with personally, but certainly in our neighborhoods.” Todman explained to the crowd, full of familiar names who were re-elected and several new ones, that being a resident leader is not an easy job.
