Commissioner Ferrell is a 42 -year resident of the District’s public housing. She has been a long time active participant in the Barry Farm Community as well as the resident council president at Barry Farm for 21 Years.

She has represented public housing residents before Congress and at the White House. For several years, Commissioner Ferrell worked with the youth for positive action in and around her community.

She was elected to the DCHA Board of Commissioners as the At-Large representative in July 2000.
